Team TGF - Ladies Team

Michelle Bricknell

I started playing poker 10-12 years ago - I know I don't seem old enough but I am honest! I'd say I've been playing live properly for 4-5yrs in casinos and not just home games. My best result all came about when mad Marty (Wilson) asked me to run some satelites in the pub that I had at the time. I won the seat but had no idea that this would mean I would be playing on TV the very next day! I was almost sick waiting in green room but once I got to the table I was fine. My heat included Rory Liffey, Phil Tuffnel and Alan Smurfit, I managed to win the heat and it gave me a massive confidence boost. The $15k I won is my biggest result so far. My local cardrooms were Walsall and Star City (Birmingham) untill they opened Broadway which has become my new home. I've cashed in their Friday tournament around 85% and always do well in the festivals there.
I think the person who has influenced my game the most is Kristy Gazes. I played a TV event with her and she ran the whole table. It felt like she chewed us all up and spat us out. I vowed to myself that day to trust my instincts and never let anyone walk over me on the poker table again. Nowadays I'm not to be bullied out of pots if I think I've got the best hand, and enjoy playing a much more aggressive style.

Fran Creed

Fran started playing poker 4 years ago. Her Dad has played for years and she eventually caught the bug too.
"I started off playing £10 rebuy tournaments at my local casino and slowly built up to where I am comfortable now at up to £500 freeze-outs."

Fran's biggest win was at DTD in march 2008 when she finished 3rd in the monthly £300 for £5000. 2 weeks later she became the first woman to win a tournament there when I won £3350 in a £50r.
Nowadays she likes to play dealers choice cash games as well as tournaments. She states her current favorite game as omaha hi/lo.
"I'd say the people that have influenced me over the years are my dad, a true old school grinder, and Paul Jackson who helped to improve the way I think when i play which has made a huge difference in my game."

Kelly Jackson

Kelly like Fran inherited the poker bug from her father who is none other than European superstar and TGF co owner Paul Jackson. Fortunately for her she has inherited his flair for poker and not his looks and her fearless approach to the game has won her many admirers even at such a young age.

The women's poker tour will hold no fears for her as she has already played in event such as the televised Women's world open and European ladies championships.

Cara-June Moore

Cara started playing poker about 3 years ago when her husband first got the poker bug and she became fed up with being a 'poker widow'. With a little tuition from him she started playing NL hold 'em and has never looked back.

Cara started playing on-line poker and steadily built her bankroll, progressing to the higher stakes online tournaments. Cara specialises in Mtts and was also the first woman to win European Mtt player of the month as featured in Bluff magazine, making 74 final tables that month earning around $25k.

Cara has enjoyed great success online but is now moving onto the live circuit, joining a team of top female players.....watch this space!
